Support for Your Graduate Education
It is a policy of this department that all Ph.D. students who are within normative time, with an overall GPA above 3.0, and are making acceptable progress towards dissertation completion will receive stipend and fee payments. Stipend and fee payments for students enrolled after their fifth year of residence are not guaranteed, this is left up to the research advisor’s discretion. Except under extraordinary circumstances, no student will be supported after six years of residence. All Ph.D. students receive the same level of stipend support.
FELLOWSHIPS
Students who are supported by academically competitive fellowships including University Central Fellowships will receive a slightly higher stipend during the period that they are receiving fellowship support. Fellowships includes health insurance and non-resident tuition (if applicable)
GRADUATE STUDENT RESEARCH (GSR) POSITIONS
Graduate Student Researchers are employed and are paid monthly. This employment includes health insurance and nonresident tuition (if applicable).
TEACHING ASSISTANTSHIPS (TA-SHIPS)
